Email Modern Authentication
Verifying Modern Authentication in Outlook
- Select File in Outlook.
- If "Microsoft Exchange" appears under the email address in the Account Information section, modern authentication is enabled.
Outlook Ver. 16.63 for Mac
Click Tools and then select Accounts.
If "Office 365" or "Microsoft Sync Technology" appears below the email address in the Accounts window, modern authentication is enabled.
In MacOS Mail
- Under Mail, click Accounts.
- On the Internet Accounts screen, click Exchange, and then click Details ….
- If the user name on the "Microsoft Exchange" screen is Saga University email address, it is modern authentication.

In iOS/ iPadOS Mail App
- Under Settings, tap Mail.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your email address, then tap [Next].
- Tap Sign In.
- Enter Password and Authentication Code.
- Tap Save on the Exchange screen.
- "Exchange" is added to the mail mailbox, so tap [Exchange] to view received mail.
In Outlook for iOS/ iPadOS and Android
It is based on advanced authentication. In most cases, no configuration changes are required.
If it is set by IMAP or POP, set it to send and receive mail with modern authentication.
