Email Modern Authentication
Verifying Modern Authentication in Outlook
- In Outlook, go to File.
- If "Microsoft Exchange" appears under the email address in the Account Information section, modern authentication is enabled.
Outlook Ver. 16.63 for Mac
Click Tools, then select Accounts.
If "Office 365" or "Microsoft Sync Technology" appears below your email address, modern authentication is enabled.
In MacOS Mail
- In Mail, click Accounts.
- On the Internet Accounts screen, select Exchange, and then click Details ….
- If your Saga University email address appears as the username, modern authentication is enabled.

In iOS/ iPadOS Mail App
- Under Settings, tap Mail.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your email address, then tap [Next].
- Tap Sign In.
- Enter Password and Authentication Code.
- Tap Save on the Exchange screen.
- "Exchange" is added to the mail mailbox, so tap [Exchange] to view received mail.
In Outlook for iOS/ iPadOS and Android
These apps use modern authentication by default. In most cases, no additional configuration is required.
If it is set by IMAP or POP, set it to send and receive mail with modern authentication.
